Beauty and the Bath

Ok, I’ll admit it…I am addicted to bath products. They make me feel pampered, happy, and well taken care of. Not to mention a lotion or bubble bath with an intoxicating scent makes me feel oh so beautiful. This love affair began when I was twelve with a bottle of Crabtree & Evelyn English Lavender bath oil. It’s blue glass bottle and woodsy scent seduced me into a life long love of anything that smells wonderful and, even better, looks pretty in my bathroom.
So in the tradition of my addiction I would like to introduce you to a company that I am very excited about: Body Systems. Why am I excited, you ask? Because, not only do they have products made with all natural ingredients and rare scent combinations that will tantalize and surprise you - but every product you order is made fresh, right when you order it.
Check out their Pink Cupcake Bath Bomb, Avocado Cactus Mineral Bath, and Mediterranean Fig Body Butter. Want to treat yourself and make a difference? Twenty percent of proceeds from Body System’s Pomegranate Sugar Scrub go to finding a cure for breast cancer as well as helping the patients and their families.
So have fun, smell the goodness, and as always, pamper yourself.

Beautiful Curls

Do you have trouble taming your curly tresses or maybe you’d just like to refine the process so that it’s easier to maintain and create the hair you love. You might even have straight hair and you want to know more about the best way to have a curly look for an evening out.
The first thing to know about your curly hair is that it loses moisture faster than any other hair type. For this reason it is very important to use a good leave-in conditioner or moisturizer in addition to your regular conditioner every time you wash your hair. Also, wash your hair every other day so that the oils in your hair don’t get stripped.
Tigi Catwalk has a great line called Curls Rock which includes a leave in moisturizer for curly hair. This line smells wonderful and works wonders for maintaining curly or wavy hair. Shampoo, Conditioner, Curl Amplifier, Curl Booster, Leave In Moisturizer - this line even has a hairspray for curly hair and the leave in moisturizer can be used as a second day rehydrator.
If you have naturally curly hair and do not use hot rollers or a curling iron - apply the leave in moisturizer then scrunch the Curl Amplifier throughout your hair while it’s still wet and air dry or use a diffuser. After your hair is dry spray on the Curl Booster, this is one of the best products I’ve found for curly hair, it makes your hair really soft and defines each curl beautifully (you can also use it the second day to refresh and redefine your curls).
If your hair is more straight and you want to add curl - apply the leave in conditioner then apply the Curl Amplifier to each section of hair that you want to curl. You can do this using hot rollers, a curling iron, or velcro rollers under a hairdryer - just brush out a section of hair, run the Curl Amplifier through the section and wrap the hair around the roller or iron rod. When you take the roller or iron rod out pull it out following the shape of curl you want to create. To create loose waves pull the hot roller back and away from your head then brush it out until you have the amount of wave you want. To create ringlets or loose curls pull the roller or iron out in the shape of the ringlet, then either finger brush it for loose curls or leave it for sophisticated ringlets. Once you hair is dry, spray the Curl Booster on to define each curl, add shine, and get rid of any flyaways.
Finish your look with a little Curls Rock Hairspray and make sure you touch it up the next day with Curl Booster, to reshape curls and Leave In Moisturizer to keep your hair healthy and soft.
