Urban Decay Matte Shadows

Premering August 1st, Urban Decay fans will finally get what they’ve been asking for: Urban Decay Matte Shadows! Whether you are already a fan of Urban Decay or you are about to discover this fabulous brand, you are going to love these new shadows!
Twelve gorgeous shades, in classic Urban Decay style these little beauties range from sexy earthy neutrals to bright gorgeous hues.
ABC Gum: light, neutral peach
Narcotic: brilliant aqua-marine
Chronic: grass green
Perversion: jet black
Cult: velvety plum
Purple Haze: vibrant lavender
Foxy: light sand
Revolver: plush gray
Illegal: soft mauve
Secret Service: chocolate brown
Naked: nude
Yeyo: sheer pure white
Typically shimmery eye shadows, Urban Decays signature, deliver velvety richness without chalkiness, something Wende Zomnir, co-founder and creative director of Urban Decay Cosmetics has always found to be missing in matte shadows. Now Urban Decay has developed a new formula for matte shadows which is very low on binders and delivers the richness of a shimmer shadow with a very velvety, lush texture.
The shades are intoxicating and there is something here for everyone. Revolver makes the greatest smoky eye, Narcotic is right in line with the bright color trends and ABC Gum is perfect for blending.
This collection is so beautiful that it’s got me on the edge of my seat for fall. Armani is showing bright hues with luscious grays on his fall runway and the Cult and Revolver are going to be an amazing compliment to that combination!
Hint: Try Perversion (jet black) with a liner brush instead of your usual black liner. This creates a beautiful softer look for summer, but because of the rich pigment of this shadow you don’t sacrifice on the drama of black eyeliner.

How Well Do You Treat You?

Have you bought yourself flowers lately? You know how special it makes you feel when someone shows up with a big beautiful bouquet for you? It’s time to treat yourself as well as someone else would. Buy yourself flowers! Put them in a gorgeous vase and make them a centerpiece you will enjoy all week long.
My absolute favorite flower for this time of year? Parrot Tulips! They are so luxurious with their frilly edges and bright colorful petals and they come in several colors that are perfect for any decor, pink, red, yellow, deep dark purple (called black). I love that thing tulips do when you put them in a vase, they way they sort of lazily hang over the edge, relaxed luxury at it’s best.
Sedu Xti Ultrasilent Hair Dryer

Have you experienced the joys of a Sedu hairdryer yet? The pure ecstasy of your hair not only dried in half the time, but your hair actually being nourished by your dryer and left silky, soft and wonderful. It is rumored that this is the dryer Jennifer Aniston uses on her gorgeous locks, if so, I can see why. You will love what this dryer does for your hair!
Sedu hairdryers are Tourmaline Ionic hairdryers which infuse 100% crushed tourmaline into the hairdryer. What does this mean for you? It means that when the tourmaline is heated it takes on natural negative charges, negative ions then split large water droplets into smaller molecules that immediately evaporate, drying the hair quicker, sparing the cuticles from excessive heat exposure and locking in moisture and shine. In addition to this Sedu’s have an ionic generator within the dryer that generates additional negative ions that smooth out and condition the cuticle on the outer layer while infrared heat gently dries the hair from the inside out.
Traditional hairdryers release positive ions which damage your hair, this is the reason hairdressers tell you it’s bad to blow dry your hair all the time. These hairdryers release negative ions which actually help heal your hair by sealing in moisture. You will notice the difference the first time you use it. My hair is very thick and long and it only took me nine minutes to dry it! Afterwards my hair felt so silky and soft, I could hardly believe I’d just blow dried it.
The tourmaline used in these dryers makes a huge difference. I have tried several of the less expensive negative ion hairdryers on the market, all in the hopes of saving money. I thought, how could they all be that much different? They all say “negative ions” on them. Well, let me tell you the Sedu is different and well worth the extra cost! With other hair dryers (by companies like Revlon, Conair, etc.) I saw a little difference and a slightly shorter drying time, but nothing really noticeable. I couldn’t really figure out what all the rave was about with the new “Ionic technology”. Now I know! The difference is with Sedu, not only negative ions, but tourmaline and infrared heat!
Don’t forget the Sedu diffuser! This is my favorite way to create a sexy look in no time at all. I just scrunch a little curling cream into my hair, diffuse it for nine minutes and my hair is silky, wavy and very sexy in no time at all. Leaves me so much more time to create a fun look with my makeup! (It is important to buy a diffuser made by the same company that makes the dryer. With most companies their diffusers are made to fit on their dryers and if you use something by another manufacturer there is a good chance it will make your dryer warranty null and void.)

New Hard Candy Eye Shadow Quartets

Bright colors are popping up everywhere in the makeup world lately. From Mac’s C Shock collection to Stila’s Summer Eyeshadow Trio in Acapulco with that gorgeous bright green, color is what it’s all about! And so it is with perfect timing that Hard Candy introduces their new Eye Shadow Quartets in Sushi and Frigid.
I am loving these color combo’s, they are all shimmery shadows that make for a very eye catching look! My favorite is the Sushi (the green earthy tones), I am using it every chance I get. The greens are just gorgeous, the light green looks amazing placed just in the arch of my brow, when the light hits it the shadow cast on the rest of my eye looks very seductive. The dark green makes a great liner and it glides on perfectly with the little liner brush in the set. The colors in the Frigid quartet are quite simply beautiful. At first I thought they were a little bright for my taste, but once I tried them on my eyes I realized that the dark caramel color balances the bright colors perfectly. In fact, the day I wore this quartet people were literally stopping me to tell me my eyes looked beautiful! Now if that won’t make a girl wear something twice I don’t know what will.
The ease with which I can create a bright popping eye or do a perfect smoky eye for summer, by blending gorgeous colors into a soft hue, is really nice. These little compacts are also so portable, I can just pop one in my purse and I have everything I need to create chic eyes and keep them fresh looking all day.
These little beauties premier exclusively at Sephora and HardCandy.com on August 1, 2007.
