Hard Candy Fragrance

hard-candy_perf-7.jpgYum, Yum, Yum! This is the delicious new fragrance from Hard Candy! Perfect for the name “Hard Candy” this scent sparkles with sugar and spice and everything nice. Top notes of White Tea, Pink Peppercorn and Rhubarb move seductively into the heart of Passion Fruit Juice, Enchanting Rose and Jasmine leaving you with a very sexy mysterious dry down of Caramel, Sultry Vanilla, Cedar Wood, and Cashmere Musk.

This fragrance smells like pink sugar swirled with musk and a dash, just a dash of pepper to spice things up. I love it! It’s fun, playful, mysterious and it doesn’t take life to seriously. Isn’t that exactly what you want for summer? And it will be perfect come fall when you want that sophisticated edge of fall fashion with a splash of summer fun gone by.

The bottle is gorgeous and, following suit with the scent it houses, is a bundle of fun and elegance. I fell head over heals for the green shade Hard Candy choose for the large bottle, doesn’t it just make you want to paint your eyes peacock and put on a large peridot cocktail ring? The pink is equally intoxicating making me think of everything female, this bottle is most definitely vanity worthy. The fragrance even comes in a glistening origami box tinted to match the bottle, so pretty!

Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask

deep-cleansing-mask.gifThis is my biggest secret weapon in the fight against acne! Typically, as long as I am using my weekly masks, washing everyday with my Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser and maintaining the rest of my daily beauty routine my skin looks gorgeous. However, there are those times when I’m stressed, tired, or just pms-ing and it seems that no matter what I do my skin is determined to breakout. This is the time that I pull out my Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask!

This stuff packs a powerful punch against acne. The mask has green kaolin clay to help eliminate impurities and absorb excess oil and Manuka honey, organic aloe vera and propolis to soothe and heal. The great part is that you can use it on your entire face or just on the breakout area. The only other thing to say about this mask is that it works! I would also not recommend this mask for sensitive skin as it is quite strong.

Gifts For Your Guy: Aveda Pure-Formance

aveda-men.jpgLooking for the perfect gift for the man, or men *wink*, in your life? Aveda has come out with a whole new line of products just for our guys! The Pure-Formance line is based on Aveda’s concept that men have thicker scalps than women and on average produce twice the oil, meaning this can make men “more prone to sensitivity, dryness, itchiness, irritation, and redness.

Aveda showed that in two weeks 72% of men experienced a reduction in oiliness and greasiness and 65% experienced a reduction in scalp dryness and itchiness. The magic ingredient in this new men’s potion is Tamanu Oil. Haven’t Heard of it? Tamanu Oil comes from the Vanuatu Islands in the South Pacific, it has “traditional anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal benefits for skin and has also been shown to help smooth and condition hair”. The use of this oil in this product is part of Aveda’s mission to care for the world and set an example of environmental leadership and responsibility.

Leave it to Aveda to package it all up in a very snazzy, almost jazzy looking, modern masculine collection. The line includes Pure-Formance Shampoo, Conditioner, Grooming Clay, Grooming Cream, Pomade, Liquid Pomade and Composition - an essential oil blend to sooth and rejuvenate the scalp. I haven’t yet smelled this line, but if it follows suit with the rest of Aveda, I’m betting it’s pretty intoxicating.

Coffee and Excessive Perspiration

coffee.jpgIf you perspire more than the average person and you want to keep your perspiration to a minimum there is one little secret you should know: Coffee causes excessive perspiration! If you have a condition like hyperhidrosis drinking coffee will make this condition much worse!

If you are addicted to your coffee try replacing it with tea or herbal coffee. Pu-erh (poo-are) tea also makes an excellent replacement for coffee, it’s strong and flavorful, but without the sweat inducing properties. It also helps to know that it takes two weeks to make or break a food or drink habit. So take it easy on yourself and give yourself time to break your coffee habit and form a new habit.
