Have you noticed that one piece bathing suits seem to be making a comeback? They are everywhere from H & M to Sarah Jessica Parker’s new line Bitten, available exclusively at Steve & Barry’s. Although I love the very sexy look of a bikini, and in California I don’t think they will ever go out of style, I must say there is something about the one piece that is all at once sexy, glamorous and very mysterious. After all, how can you argue with the legendary style of Elizabeth Taylor and Betty Grable? There is just something about a one piece, the large dark glasses peeping out from under a wide brimmed floppy hat, and the red lips curving slightly upward. What’s her secret and how does she look so cool when it’s so hot?

Create Your Own Spa Experience

Do you love going to the spa? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to create that experience for yourself every day in your own home? While creating my own at home spa experience this morning I discovered that these products really did make me feel like I was at a spa. I started my day refreshed and pampered. Isn’t that what every woman deserves on her Sunday morning?
Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub: This is not your typical scrub, this is a spa scrub. Made from crushed grape-seeds, brown sugar, pure Gironde honey, and 6 organic essential oils, this is a slimming action scrub which smoothes out cellulite and has a draining effect, just like the kind they use in the spas. This scrub feels wonderful, when spread on your skin it has medium sized grains which exfoliate your skin leaving a sort of milky texture all over your skin that softens as it smoothes. Travertine Spa Petal Body Cream My spa experience this morning was made complete with this wonderfully luxurious body cream. This cream is made with Jojoba oil and it feels like charmeuse satin going over your skin. Jojoba oil is so beneficial for your skin, it minimizes water loss, helping your skin to maintain it’s own moisture levels over time. (Jojoba oil even stops ingrown hairs from developing.) And the smell, oh, the smell! Intoxicating, exotic, pure luxury. My skin was left nurtured, pampered, and even my elbows feel like silk. This lotion is now one of my absolute favorites for my own personal spa treatment.
I think I’ll make this my Sunday ritual! Now all I need is strawberries, fresh cream and a mimosa!
Give Your Eyes A Face Lift

I’d been looking at Benefit Cosmetic’s Lemon-Aid and Ooh La Lift for a while. To be honest the before and after pictures looked great, but I was thinking that my eyes couldn’t possibly need that much of a lift, I’m only thirty, and I just wasn’t sure that makeup would produce that strong of a result. But after comments like, a “makeover for your eyes”, “results are instant”, and “you look years younger” my curiosity got the better of me and I had to give these products a try.
Wow, wow! This is not your mom’s lemonade, this is the stuff that stars are made of. You know those gorgeous high brows the movie stars always seem to have, how they look great seemingly with or without makeup, and how they always look fresh and reseted? Well this is how they do it, with a product like this. The moment I put the Lemon-Aid on my eye lids I noticed how much it seemed to lift my eyes, my eyebrows looked slightly higher and my eyes seemed to look more open.
When I combined the Lemon-Aid with the Ooh La Lift I was sold! Benefit says, “it feels like an instant eye lift”, I say it not only feels that way, it looks that way. This stuff is wonderful! I looked as if I had hours more sleep than I really had and as if I had just gotten back from a spa vacation. In short, my eyes looked so fabulous that with a little powder I didn’t even want any more makeup.
The Lemon-Aid also works great as an undereye coverup and is great to cover up those little banged up bruises you get from summer sports, like volleyball.

While enjoying my Independence Day at the beach yesterday I made the horrendous mistake of forgetting to lather myself in sunscreen. Even though it was cloudy I know to use sunscreen, but somehow I was having so much fun I was simply oblivious to the fact that I was slowly turning into a lobster. Needless to say by the end of the day my skin felt like a firework going off, hot and burning.
I would normally use aloe in the situation, however while aloe feels good when you first put it on the cool sensation fades quickly and it usually only speeds up the healing process by a day or two. I was curious if there was anything else that might work better. Boy was this the stuff I wanted! It feels so good on my skin, it sooths the sunburn, keeps my skin supple, and I know these ingredients are wonderful for healing my skin on a deep level.
