Coconut: There is a great article in this month’s Healing Lifestyles & Spa magazine on the benefits of Coconut: Coconut Dreams. Be sure to read about the Spa Bellagio’s Deep Coconut Surrender, the mere thought of it had me relaxed and contemplating hopping in the car for a random trip to Vegas.

Healthy Living: Speaking of Healing Lifestyles, have you checked out the new site healthy.lifestyle? Tai Chi Therapy, Juices that heal, herbs…this is the place to find your way to a healthy, fun, lifestyle with well-being at the center of every day.

Be Inspiring

Today, own your beauty, your style. Whoever you are and whatever makes you be you, own it powerfully. Use your uniqueness to inspire others around you.
What if every woman was so confident in herself that rather than caring what people thought about her, she powerfully owned her effect on the world and those in it?

At Home Spa Sanctuary

While exploring my on going love affair with Aveda products I ran across a suggested ritual in their Caribbean Therapy line. Being that it had been an especially exhausting day and I could barely do anything but plop down on the couch and try to catch my breath, the word “Ritual” combined with “Caribbean” followed by “Therapy” could do nothing but seduce me out of my lethargic state. Sure enough, by the time I finished reading through the “Create your own spa sanctuary at home” I felt thoroughly pampered and inspired to take care of myself, rather than sit there like wilted lettuce waiting to be watered.
To add to the luxury of this treatment the Caribbean Therapy line has an entrancing sent swirled with cocoa butter, lime, mango, and vetiver. For just a minute you’ll swear you’ve been transported to St. John’s with someone handing you a rum drink with a pineapple happily hanging on the side. And besides, we all know Aveda never fails when it comes to great scents. Speaking of scents, there is nothing that makes you feel more like a goddess than smelling amazing. Imagine a hard day, you come home and treat yourself to a spa, go out feeling refreshed and pretty and someone gives you a hug and says, “Wow! You smell wonderful, like you just stepped out of a spa”. Now what would make you feel more beautiful than that?
So for all you goddesses out there, here is Aveda’s, sure to make you feel special, at home spa:
• Light a Caribbean Therapy Soy Wax Candle to infuse the room
with exotic aroma.
• Pour 4-6 capfuls of Caribbean Therapy Bath Soak under warm
running water.
• While bath is running, massage Caribbean Therapy Body Scrub
onto dry skin to exfoliate.
• Step in; deeply inhale the aroma of Caribbean essential oils.
• Lather a Caribbean Therapy Bath Bar and, working toward the
heart, use gentle, slow, circular motions to exfoliate the
whole body.
• After bathing, gently pat skin dry, then mist face and body
with Caribbean Therapy Flower Water to refresh skin; inhale
the neroli and orange aroma.
• Apply Caribbean Therapy Body Creme liberally using slow,
circular motions, working toward the heart.
• Curl up in a warm robe or blanket with a cup of Aveda
Comforting Tea.

Pink Awareness

I’ve just purchased my favorite new item, a lite pink drink tumbler, at The Coffee Bean. I love the color and when I first saw it, it made me feel so feminine. Taking a closer look I realized that it was not only pretty, but also it served a noble and purposeful cause, my favorite combination. For each tumbler purchased The Coffee Bean will donate a portion of the profits to the National Beast Cancer Foundation. How much better could you get? Look pretty, support a cause that affects all of us in some way or another and keep present in our minds that making a difference every day matters. If you don’t already have one, get one, or if you don’t like pink, buy a present for someone who does. Sadly for those of you in New York and a few other forlorn states, you don’t have a coffee bean, no worries! Buy it on line: coffeebean.com.
To support this cause further go to the Breast Cancer Site at thebreastcancersite.com. On this site there is a pink button, for every click on this button the National Breast Cancer Foundation will make a donation to help underprivileged woman receive mammograms. You can even have the website send you a reminder to click every day. Just go to “click reminders” on the sidebar and sign up. Check out the rest of this website too, tons of ways to support and make a difference.
