I really like your advice on the acne preparation, but I especially like the idea of visiting Antigua, and reaping the extra benefits!

I agree, regular exercise, lots of fluids and healthy lifestyle is one way of preventing winter blues. Great post you've got here. Thanks for posting this.

First of all...thank you! The public needs to be more aware of this awful problem. I got staph after back surgery..it was the most painful thing I've ever been thru! After the hospital stay they put a picc line in for 2 1/2 more mos. of antibiotics that had to be injected 3 times a day! They say the staph is laying dormant in my system. The thing is I'm still in pain and so very tired all the time. If any one knows anything...I would appreciate the info.

I'm working out a staph infection on my leg now. Like you, I thought it was just a spider bite, but once it got about an inch in diameter and made it very painful to walk, I did some more online searching and realized it looked a lot like staph. I went to the local clinic, where they promptly drained the big sore and a second one that had appeared nearby. The doctor then stuffed both with gauze ribbon, which I had to leave sticking out of the cuts for 4 days while they drained. I also started taking doxycycline antibiotic.

Luckily, the tissue sample sent to the lab came back as not MRSA. It's been a few weeks now and the original ones have healed up, but I have one more that's started and is giving me trouble. I have a topical antibiotic cream called mupirocin that seems to help, and the doctors told me to put a hot pad on the sore several times a day to help the puss inside to come to a head and get it out of my leg.

I really hope this is the last sore I have to deal with... Staph is definitely not a fun experience.
